Submitting to the Word of God

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
— Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV

When I first started my journey with Christ, there were times I didn't fully understand why God would do certain things to people in the Bible. Some judgments seemed harsh, and some just plain weird. In the end, whether I agreed with them or not, who was I to question God?  Who was I to think that I, a creation, could have a more righteous way to handle things than the Creator?

Recently I came across a sermon in which a minister of Christ, Francis Chan, discussed the importance of God, His judgment, and us as believers fully submitting to His Word (see video below). If you are a believer in Christ, the question we all need to answer is, are we putting our thoughts above God's?
